PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Northwest Florida State women's basketball put on a dominant performance against No. 8 Gulf Coast State on Saturday afternoon in Panama City, cruising to a commanding 26-point victory behind a barrage of three-pointers.
The Raiders established early momentum, closing out the first quarter with a 13-10 lead, highlighted by a buzzer-beating three from Neveah Scott. They extended their advantage in the second quarter, outscoring the Commodores 16-9 to take a double-digit lead into halftime at 36-29.
The Raiders were on fire from beyond the arc, shooting over 50% from three-point range. That trend carried into the second half as they drilled six more triples, including back-to-back shots from deep by Scott and Sydney Bradley in the third quarter, pushing their lead to 48-33 at the media timeout.
By the end of the third, Northwest Florida State had built a commanding 61-39 lead. The three-point barrage continued in the fourth with two more made triples, bringing the team's total to 11. The Raiders were in complete control on both ends of the floor—executing offensively while locking down defensively, holding Gulf Coast State to under 40% shooting from the field.
With the final buzzer, the Raiders sealed the dominant 26-point win, improving to 21-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
