NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida State women's basketball is set to return to action this Monday for their last home game before the new year. The undefeated Raiders will face Southern Union on Monday afternoon, closing out their 2024 home schedule.
Northwest Florida's most recent outing came two weeks ago in Summit, Mississippi, where they battled the 10-win Southwest Mississippi Bears. Despite a challenging performance, the Raiders emerged victorious with a 55-48 win, marking their 14th triumph of the season. Mekhia Chase led the scoring effort with 16 points, followed by Ka'Zahria Johnson, who added 10 points.
Now rested and ready, the Raiders aim to pick up where they left off as they gear up for the second half of the season. Monday's matchup features the struggling Southern Union Bison, who enter the contest with a 4-9 record. The Bison are currently on a four-game losing skid, having fallen to Chattahoochee Valley, Pensacola State, Gulf Coast State, and Chipola.
Northwest Florida will be the fourth consecutive Panhandle Conference opponent for Southern Union—and likely the toughest. The Raiders are ranked No. 2 nationally and boast top-20 rankings in multiple statistical categories.

Monday's matchup between the Raiders and the Bison will feature free admission for all attendees—no ticket required. Don't miss the chance to cheer on the unbeaten Raiders as they close out 2024 with their final home game of the year and last until conference play on January 11.
