Davenport’s Double-Double Powers Raiders to 80-42 Victory Over Southern Union

PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Northwest Florida State continued their dominant season on Saturday, cruising to an 80-42 win over Southern Union and improving to a perfect 9-0 on the year.

The Raiders took control early, building a commanding 22-8 lead in the first quarter. By halftime, they extended their advantage to 38-22. Northwest Florida maintained their dominance in the second half, pushing the lead to 24 by the end of the third quarter and closing out the game with a 25-point explosion in the final 10 minutes to secure the 38-point win.

Deborah Davenport delivered an outstanding performance, leading the team with 21 points—just shy of her career-high (23)—and grabbing 11 rebounds for her fourth career double-double. She was also a defensive force, contributing three steals and a block. Nevaeh Scott added 14 points on efficient 5-of-8 shooting, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, while chipping in three rebounds and three assists.

The Raiders shot a season-second-best 54.1% from the field, making a season-high 33 baskets on 61 attempts. The team showcased excellent ball movement, recording 20 assists and getting 11 of the 12 players who saw action on the scoreboard.

UP NEXT
The Raiders remain undefeated at 9-0 and have now won seven consecutive regular-season games on the road. Their road stretch continues next week in the Pensacola State Classic, hosted by Pensacola State College. Northwest Florida will face Bishop State on Nov. 29 at 1:00 p.m., followed by a matchup with Mississippi Gulf Coast on Nov. 30, also at 1:00 p.m.
