TIP-OFF

Northwest Florida State women's basketball will close out their regular season home slate on Wednesday with a game against Pensacola beginning at 5:30 PM. The Raiders are coming off their bye week; the last time they took the floor was last Wednesday against Tallahassee where they defeated the Eagles 66-38.

The win brought their season record to 22-3 and conference record to 7-3. This also helped the team secure a spot in next months Region VIII Tournament. The Raiders are one of three teams (Gulf Coast, Eastern Florida) to have punched their ticket to the tournament.

Pensacola is on the bubble when it comes to making the tournament. The Pirates are currently sitting in four place of the Panhandle conference standings, one game behind Chipola, and need to win their final two games and have the Indians lose one of their last two just to have a change at making the tournament.

SOPHOMORE NIGHT

With Saturday being the Raiders final home game, Raider Athletics will be honoring six sophomores prior to tipoff.

Sophomores: Jaela Davis, Destiney McPhaul, Stephanie Mosley, Mya Pierfax, Celia Riviere and Deannasty Smith.

LAST TIME OUT

Northwest Florida State women's basketball secured a commanding three-game series sweep over Tallahassee last Wednesday, clinching a 66-38 victory.

The Raiders displayed dominance in the paint, with 46 of their 66 points originating from inside, complemented by an additional 20 points from successful free throw attempts. Notably, this game marked a season-high in free throw conversions for the Raiders and a season-low in three-pointers made as a team, with none recorded. The defensive prowess of NWF was evident throughout the game, as they forced 22 turnovers and limited the Eagles to just ten made baskets.

Three Raiders achieved double-digit scoring, showcasing the team's depth. Kyla McBride led the scoring with 14 points, supported by eight rebounds and two steals. Jade Ondineme contributed a career-high ten points along with six rebounds, while Celia Riviere, the sole starter in double figures, recorded 12 points, five rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
