Lady Raiders Win 11th Straight, 94-69 over Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Despite an early rocky start in the first quarter, the Raiders, yet again, had a strong second quarter to pull away from the Lady Eagles to pull off a 94-69 win in the Eagle Dome on Wednesday night. Northwest Florida continues their perfect Panhandle Conference record at 5-0 and 17-2 on the season.

Northwest Florida struggled to score early on, starting the game out tied at 8. Sakima Walker's floater inside got the team going, and from that point on, the Raiders never looked back in their 25-point win over Tallahassee. The Raiders pulled away from the Eagles in the second quarter, outscoring Tallahassee 29-12 right before intermission.

Once Northwest Florida settled in, the Raiders were firing on all cylinders. The Raiders had 5 players in double digits with Sakima Walker leading the team with 24 points on 9-15 shooting. Destiney McPhaul dropped 14 points, Mya Pierfax had 13 while Ro Marc and Marissa Gasaway each had 12.

The Raiders (17-2, 5-0) have now won 11 straight and look to extend that winning streak on Saturday, January 28th at 2:00 PM when the Chipola Lady Indians roll into Raider Arena. The Raiders and Indians will meet for the second time after the Raiders came away with a 66-52 win at The Milt. Chipola (8-9, 2-2) is led by #23 Ashley Baez, who is 3rd in the country in scoring with 22.5 points per game.
