NWF Wins in a Blowout over FSCJ

MARIANNA, Fla. - The Raiders went over to Marianna to face the Blue Wave of Florida State College at Jacksonville and came away with a 71 point win, winninng 103-32. Northwest Florida held FSCJ scoreless in the first quarter, leading 24-0 after 1. Coach Walker and his team went into the Holiday break on a good note as they dominated in every aspect of the game on Friday afternoon.

 

NWF played a near perfect game as they connected on 47-75 (62.7%) from the field, outrebounded the Blue Wave 39-19, forced 28 turnovers on defense and only turned the ball over 5 times on offense. Sakima Walker was unstoppable inside as she scored 22 points, with the help of Destiney McPhaul feeding her inside en route to a team-high 9 assists on the night. Jamyia Montgomery led the team with 4 steals. Every player on the Raiders squad was able to get in the scorebook tonight with 4 Raiders getting into double digits. Ayisse Magassa was 6-6 from the field, scoring 12 points in Friday's contest.

 

The Raiders will get a couple weeks off for the Holidays before traveling to Gainesville, Florida to take on Santa Fe College (7-6) on Thursday, December 29th at 4:00 PM CST and then facing Florida State College at Jacksonville (4-8) on Friday, December 30th at 1:00 PM CST in Gainesville.
