Raiders Run Away from Monroe to a 72-23 Victory

NICEVILLE, Fla. – The Raiders showed out in their return to Raider Arena vs. Monroe College as Coach Walker and his team ran away with a 72-23 victory on Friday afternoon.

Northwest Florida dominated from start to finish as the Raiders scored the first bucket of the game and never looked back. At intermission, the Raiders were up 45-8. The defense was suffocating as they forced 36 turnovers and held Monroe to 7-36 (19.4%) shooting on the night. Ro Marc led the way on defense with 8 steals, followed by Destiney McPhaul with 5. 

On the offensive side, the Raiders could not be stopped as they shot 28-51 (54.9%) and scored 46 of their points in the paint. Ro Marc's performance was stellar tonight as she was just shy of a triple- double with 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 steals. Sakima Walker was the leading scorer for the Raiders as she chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Destiney McPhaul accounted for 10 points and 5 steals.

#8 Northwest Florida (8-2) will take on Georgia Highlands (4-8) tomorrow, December 10th at 2:00 PM in Raider Arena. Georgia Highlands was beaten by #4 Eastern Florida State College 72-53 tonight.
