Raiders Win Big in Daytona Beach, 71-45 over Miami Dade

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Northwest Florida got ahead and stayed ahead for all 40 minutes vs. Miami Dade College, as the Raiders defeated the Sharks 71-45. NWF controlled the game throughout the afternoon, thanks to their shooting. The Raiders were 28-54 (51.9%) from the field and converted on 13-16 (81.3%) free throws.

 

Marissa Gasaway led the charge with 17 points off the bench, followed by Jaela Davis with 16 points, also off the bench. Jaela Davis was clutch on both ends of the court as she forced 7 steals. The Raider defense was suffocating as they forced 26 turnovers and held Miami Dade to 29.8% shooting. 

 

The Raiders were able to get in the paint with ease as they scored 42 points inside compared to Miami Dade's 14. Ro Marc and Marissa Gasaway led Northwest Florida with 7 rebounds a piece, followed by Mya Pierfax with 5.

 

Northwest Florida Raiders will be at home next weekend for the first time since November 3rd. The Raiders will take on Monroe College (6-4) on Friday, December 9th at 4:00 PM. This will be the second time the Raiders and Mustangs have met this season, with Northwest Florida pulling out a 75-63 win back on November 18th in Panama City.
