Top-ranked Raiders cap off busy week with huge 85-43 win over Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, FL - Any concerns of fatigue, coming off a big emotional win on Thursday and playing in their third game in five days, were quickly squashed once the ball was tipped in the Eagle Dome vs. Tallahassee on Saturday.  The Raiders raced out of the gate like thoroughbreds to a 10-0 lead and never looked back the rest of the way, cruising past the Eagles 85-43 to move to 17-0 and 3-0 in conference play.

The top-ranked team in the land played up to their billing.  It was brilliant basketball for the entire 40 minutes of action.  Everybody on the roster scored, everyone was incredibly engaged, the ball was shared so much it resembled a game of hot-potato at times, and once again the trademark defense of this program was on full display.

The game turned out to be an ideal situation for head coach Bart Walker.  With the main rotation was slightly fatigued after a busy week, he was elated to be able to distribute the minutes evenly throughout his whole roster thanks to the dominating way his team performed from the start.  Moreover, key reserves got important minutes, which will undoubtedly help the team's depth as the conference season grows longer.

Northwest Florida was led in scoring by Last-Tear Poa and Shelbee Brown, each pouring in 15 points in very efficient manners.  Asjah Inniss added 9 points off the bench and Ines Piper, along with Aichia Ndour scored 7 each.

The Raiders will enjoy the much needed BYE during the middle of next week before returning to action at home on Saturday, January 15th when they host Pensacola State College at 2:00pm.
