LAKE CHARLES, La. – The top-ranked Northwest Florida State women's basketball team closed non-conference play with a quality win over No. 14 South Plains, 73-47, on Friday.
In a rematch of last season's NJCAA Elite Eight meeting, Ines Piper led the way with 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Noelani Cornfield added 13 points with a pair of threes, while Last-Tear Poa knocked down a trio of 3-pointers to end with 11 points.
The Raiders (14-0) open Panhandle Conference play at Gulf Coast on Jan. 4.
