NWF Women’s Hoops Take Care of Business at Home

NICEVILLE, Fla. – The third-ranked Northwest Florida State women's basketball team won its sixth straight matchup against Tallahassee, 66-36, on Thursday in Raider Arena.

The Raiders (14-1, 10-1 PC) were steady though not flashy throughout. NWF shot 48.3 percent (28-58) for the game and held the Eagles to just a 28.8 percent (15-52) clip for the contest.

Chanaya Pinto scored 20 points with nine rebounds and six assists on a 9-of-15 effort from the field. It was the fifth time this season the sophomore has reached the 20-point plateau and ranks 11th in the nation with 256 points scored.

Masengo Mutanda scored 11 points, while Last-Tear Poa added nine points and eight rebounds.

The Raiders scored 38 of their 66 points in the paint and won the rebounding battle 45-20. 

In three matchups this season with Tallahassee, Northwest Florida has surrendered an average of 34.7 points to the Eagles. The Raiders' 46.9 pointer per game allowed is the best mark in the country.

Northwest Florida hits the road on Saturday for a top-5 matchup against Chipola.
