NICEVILLE, Fla. – The second-ranked Northwest Florida State women's basketball led from start to finish in an 85-31 rout of Santa Fe in Raider Arena on Saturday.
The Raiders (2-0) got another stellar performance from Chanaya Pinto. The sophomore registered her second double-double in as many games with a team-high 15 points and 12 rebounds.
In total, five Raiders scored in double figures as Sabou Gueye finished with 13, Inès Piper with 12, Masengo Mutanda with 11, and Noelani Cornfield with 10.
Northwest Florida scored the first 18 points of the game and raced out to a 28-5 lead after the first quarter. NWF shot 51.5 percent (34-66) from the game, including a 60 percent (12-20) clip over the first 10 minutes.
After a lopsided 22-1 third quarter, NWF build its lead to 59 in the fourth before letting off the gas. The program has now won four straight home openers.
The Raiders return to action on Tuesday against DME Academy in Raider Arena. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
