CHAMPIONS: Northwest Florida Claims Second Straight Conference Title

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida women's basketball claimed its second consecutive Panhandle Conference regular season title with a 69-40 victory over Tallahassee on Saturday.

With the win, Northwest Florida (23-4, 8-3 PC) cliched a spot in the FCSAA/Region VIII State Tournament and assured a share of the Panhandle Conference title. A victory at Pensacola Saturday locks up the outright championship for the Raiders.

"I'm so happy for this team," Northwest Florida head coach Bart Walker said. "It's an honor to be in this league and to win it two years in a row against the competition we play. I could not be prouder of the direction of this program."

Rayven Peeples scored a game-high 28 points on 12-of-15 shooting. Fapou Semebene finished with nine points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals, and a block.

Northwest Florida led by as many as 29 points and shot 48.4 percent (30-62) for the game. The Raiders outscored Tallahassee 44-26 in the paint and forced 22 turnovers defensively.

NWF is 74-16 since head coach Bart Walker's return in 2017 and has advanced to the NJCAA Elite Eight in each of the last two seasons.
