Chanaya Pinto Named Player of the Week

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida freshman Chanaya Pinto was named NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week, the FCSAA announced Tuesday.

Pinto averaged 22.5 points and 10 rebounds in the Raiders' wins over Pensacola and then-No. 4 Gulf Coast. The Mozambique native scored 20 points with 11 rebounds against Pensacola and a team-high 25 against Gulf Coast to go along with nine boards.

On the season, Pinto is averaging 14.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per contest. She is the second Raider to win the award this season. Rayven Peeples was named Player of the Week on Dec. 3.
