Raiders Travel to Take on Hillsborough
NICEVILLE, Fla. – Fourth-ranked Northwest Florida women's basketball puts its 13-0 record on the line Tuesday at it travels to Tampa to take on Hillsborough at 4:30 p.m. (CT).
The Raiders took down No. 24 Eastern Florida in the team's last game. Sophomore guard Reneasha Payton has been solid of late averaging 13.8 points over her last six games and has scored 15-plus four times this season.
Northwest Florida sports the nation's best defense allowing just 43.2 points per contest, the squad is also holding opponents to a 28.5 field goal percentage and outrebounding teams by 21.2 per game.
Chanaya Pinto leads the team averaging 12.9 points and is second with 7.5 rebounds per contest. Nationally, the freshman is 35th with 38 steals through 13 games.
Hillsborough (6-9) has won two straight games after dropping six of seven from Nov. 16-Dec. 7. The Hawks are led by Alaisa Spivey who is averaging 19.9 points per game.
