Raiders Down No. 24 Eastern Florida in Hard-Fought Affair

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Three Raiders scored in double figures as No. 4 Northwest Florida capped its home non-conference slate with a 73-52 win over No. 24 Eastern Florida Friday in Raider Arena.

Northwest Florida (13-0) was caught in a proper scrap before turning up the heat in the third quarter. The Raiders outscored Eastern Florida 22-10 in the frame before opening a 26-point advantage midway through the fourth quarter. 

While NWF led for 29:57 of the game, the Titans kept the game within single digits throughout the first half.

Rayven Peeples and Reneasha Payton led the team with 16 points each, while Chanaya Pinto added 15. Pinto and Peeples tied for a team-best seven rebounds. Kynadi Kuykendoll chipped in with three points, six rebounds and seven assists.

Eastern Florida (10-2) sophomore guard Milan Schimmel was a thorn in the Raiders' side all night posting a game-high 25 points and 10 rebounds on 11-of-21 shooting.

The Raiders hit the road to take on Hillsborough at 4:30 p.m. (CT) Tuesday.
