10 Teams Invade Raider Arena for JuCo Shootout

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Ten women's basketball teams, including No. 4 Northwest Florida invade Raider Arena for the 11th Annual Florida Colleges Women's Basketball Shootout Friday and Saturday.

In total, 20 teams will take part in the event, which is split between the campuses of Northwest Florida and Gulf Coast State. Games at NWF start each day at 10 a.m.

The Raiders take on Indian River at 4 p.m. Friday and Palm Beach State at 2 p.m. Saturday.

As a team, Northwest Florida (9-0) is shooting 49.5 percent on the year, sixth best in the NJCAA, while averaging 19.3 assists per game, 11th-most nationally. Defensively, the Raiders are allowing just 45.8 points per contest, which ranks third in the nation.

Sophomore forward Rayven Peeples was named NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week on Tuesday after averaging 16.0 points, 2.0 steals and 3.5 blocks in two games last week. On the season, Peeples is averaging 11.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per contest.
