Walker Wins 300th, Raiders Improve to 6-0

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Reneasha Payton scored 19 points and Laura Taylor knocked down four 3-pointers as No. 4 Northwest Florida downed College of Central Florida, 88-46, on Friday handing head coach Bart Walker his 300th career victory in the Courtyard Downtown Capital Classic.

 Payton led all scorers with 19 points on 5-of-11 shooting and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. Taylor chalked up 12 of her 16 points from beyond the arc. Fapou Semebene scored 16 points on a 7-for-10 effort from the field and added eight rebounds.

Chanaya Pinto was solid for the Raiders as well turning in nine points and a game-high 11 rebounds. NWF (6-0) shot 43.9 percent (29-66) as a team and outrebounded Central Florida 50-29. The Raiders also racked up 17 assists in the contest.

The win was the 300th for Walker in his career and 94th at the helm of the Northwest Florida program. Walker, in his 14th season as a head coach, is 94-29 as a Raider.

Northwest Florida wraps up the Courtyard Downtown Capital Classic against Snow College at 11 a.m. (CT) Saturday.
