GAME ONE vs. BISHOP STATE

Bre Hughes powered Northwest Florida State to a dominant 16-1 victory over Bishop State on Tuesday, driving in four runs on two hits. Hughes doubled in the second inning to bring in two runs and followed up with a two-run homer to center field in the third.

A nine-run second inning set the tone for the Raiders. Anastasia Acree and Hughes both had two-RBI hits, while Anna Grace Griggs, AJ Vineski, and an error contributed to the scoring frenzy. Acree capped off the inning with another two-run double.

The Raiders extended their lead in the third with Hughes' home run and a two-run double from Falyn Beebe.

Cailyn Heyl picked up the win, allowing just one run on two hits over three innings with two strikeouts. Bre Barnes followed with two perfect innings in relief.

Northwest Florida's offense was relentless, collecting 14 hits. Acree led the charge with a 3-for-4 performance, while Griggs, Sister Arnold, and Vineski also had multi-hit games. The team stole five bases and played flawless defense, with Arnold recording a game-high seven putouts.

Bishop State's Kaylee King and Emma Wilson each had a hit, with Harmony Stafford driving in the Wildcats' lone run.
