Sister Arnold Named NJCAA DI Softball Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Northwest Florida State softball's standout first baseman, Sister Arnold, has been named the NJCAA DI Softball Player of the Week after an explosive start at the plate in the opening weeks of the 2025 season.

Through the first eight games, the sophomore has been unstoppable, posting a .667 batting average with 14 hits, six extra-base hits—including two home runs—and 10 RBIs. Her most dominant performance came on January 31 in a 16-5 win over Angelina College at the Mardi Gras Classic in Youngsville, La., where she went a perfect 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, five RBIs, and a run scored. Later in the tournament, she delivered another standout performance, going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI to help the Raiders secure a 10-1 victory over UA Rich Mountain.

"No shocker here," said head coach Andy Lee. "Sister is probably the most feared hitter in the state of Florida. Hard work does pay off. Her work ethic is second to none, and she continues to get better every at-bat."

Arnold is coming off an incredible freshman campaign in 2024, where she hit .398 across 64 games, racking up 82 hits, 20 home runs, and a program-record 81 RBIs. She finished the season ranked 16th in the NJCAA in home runs, 12th in RBIs, and 17th in total bases (160). Her stellar play earned her Panhandle Conference Player of the Year honors, a First-Team Region VIII selection, and NFCA All-Region and All-American recognition.

Now off to a perfect 8-0 start, Arnold and the Raiders look to carry their momentum into this weekend's tournament in Panama City, where they are set to play four games between Saturday and Sunday.
