Raiders Extend Historic Streak with Two Wins Against Wallace-Dothan on Tuesday

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida State softball's impressive streak continued at the NWF Softball complex with two more victories on Tuesday. The Raiders dominated Wallace-Dothan, winning 7-1 in game one and 10-0 in game two, extending their undefeated record to 14-0 for the season.

This stellar start marks the Raiders' best performance in 11 seasons, surpassing last year's 12-0 start. They currently boast the most wins in NJCAA and stand as one of the few undefeated teams nationwide.

GAME ONE

Northwest Florida State secured a 7-1 victory against the Wallace Governors on Tuesday, highlighted by a four-run fifth inning surge. Ashlyn Shirah's solo home run, McKayla Ferguson's triple driving in two runs, and an error adding another contributed to the scoring spree.

The Raiders got on the scoreboard in the third inning following an error by the Governors. Shirah's double and Christina Mason's sacrifice fly each brought home a run.

Pitcher Cailyn Heyl delivered an impressive performance, earning the win for NWF. Over five innings, the right-hander allowed just two hits and one run while striking out five.

Katlyn Conner started in the circle for Wallace but struggled against the Raiders' offense, surrendering nine hits and seven runs over four and two-thirds innings. Tori Taylor provided solid relief pitching for NWF, pitching two scoreless innings.

Mason led the Raiders at the plate, going 3-for-3, while Shirah and Ferguson each contributed two RBIs. Hayden Andrews showcased her speed with two stolen bases as the team totaled four steals for the game.

Despite their efforts, the Governors' offense was limited, with Olivia Elliot, Savannah Jenkins, Reagan Tomlin, and E Castle each managing just one hit. Jenkins led the team with one RBI.

GAME TWO

In game two, the Raiders got off to a strong start, scoring early with two home runs in the bottom of the first inning. Sister Arnold's solo shot to center field put them on the board first.

The Raiders extended their lead in the second inning when Britt Bourgoyne stole home, followed by RBI doubles from Christina Mason and Sophia Jones.

Breana Barnes pitched great for the Raiders, allowing only one hit and zero runs over four innings while striking out two.

On the mound for the Governors, Morgan Moss struggled, giving up six hits and seven runs in just one and two-thirds innings. Sydney Simpson provided relief for the Raiders, pitching a scoreless inning.

Madison Stewart and Mason each had two hits for NWF, while McKayla Ferguson led the team with three RBIs. Ashlyn Shirah and Bourgoyne showcased their speed, stealing multiple bases each. The Raiders stole a total of five bases in the game and turned one double play.
