NWF Storms Back to Defeat Wallace State 8-4

DOTHAN, Ala. – Northwest Florida State softball overcame a four-run deficit to defeat Wallace State 8-4 on Friday.

 

Wallace State took the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning with Emily Hall's double driving in one run, followed by Caroline Cartron and Bayleigh Rouse's singles, each bringing in a run.

However, the Raiders turned the game around in the top of the seventh, scoring five runs on five hits to take an 8-4 lead. Christina Mason's single, driving in two runs, was the highlight of the inning.

 

Tori Taylor earned the win for Northwest Florida State, pitching two innings without conceding a run. Cailyn Heyl started the game, allowing four runs (one earned) over five innings. Emily Simon started for Wallace State, giving up eight runs over seven innings.

 

Hayden Andrews led Northwest Florida State's offense with two hits in three at-bats, showcasing the team's lineup depth. Mason led the team with two walks, while the Raiders showed patience at the plate, drawing five walks in total.
