Riley Gibson Walks It Off, Raiders Win 1-0
CLEARWATER, Fla. - With the score knotted at 0 in the bottom of the 7th, the Raiders bats had not woken up in the early morning down in Clearwater, Florida until Riley Gibson stepped up to the plate with 2 outs. Gibson blasted one over the wall to give Northwest Florida a 1-0 victory over Parkland College. Gibson went 1-3 at the plate.
It could not have been done without a steller defensive performance lead by Allison Brunson. Brunson had all the right stuff on Saturday for the Raiders, allowing 3 hits and zero runs while striking out 9 batters.
The Raiders improved their record to 3-0 after defeating Region VIII foes, Indian River State College 13-6 and #1 Florida Southwestern 4-3 the previous day.
