Four RBI Day For Sydney Stewart Seals The Deal In Northwest Florida's Victory Over Indian River

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Four runs batted in from Sydney Stewart helped lead Northwest Florida past Indian River State College 13-6 on Friday. Stewart drove in runs on a double in the second and a home run in the seventh.

 

Indian River evened things up at three in the bottom of the third inning. Northwest Florida took the lead for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth, an error scored another run for the Raiders.

 

Northwest Florida poured it on in the 7th, notching six runs to put it away. The offensive onslaught came from a sacrifice fly by Rani Meaux, a home run by Sydney Stewart, an error on a ball put in play by Riley Gibson, and by Rycca Hinton. Northwest Florida launched four home runs on the day. Maycie Hardy had a long ball in the sixth inning, followed by Riley Gibson hitting one of her own. Sydney Stewart went for the long ball in the seventh inning. Rani Meaux went deep in the second inning.

 

Julia Petty was in the pitcher's circle for Northwest Florida. The pitcher surrendered three runs on four hits over six innings, striking out seven and walking one.

 

The Raiders totaled 13 hits in the game with Stewart, Hardy, and Meaux accounting for multiple hits. Stewart went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Raiders in hits.
