Northwest Florida holds off ABAC 5-4 to get the win

CLEARWATER, FL - Northwest Florida State College got out to a four-run lead in the seventh inning and held on for a 5-4 victory over ABAC on Saturday. ABAC scored three runs on a home run in the seventh inning.

 

Northwest Florida State College earned the victory despite allowing ABAC to score three runs in the seventh inning. ABAC scored its runs on a home run by #00.

 

ABAC got things started in the second inning when #6 hit a solo homer.

 

Northwest Florida State College pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Alexis Wadsworth's sac fly scored one run for Northwest Florida State College and Layla Thompson doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

 

Julia Petty was the winning pitcher for Northwest Florida State College. Petty went seven innings, allowing four runs on nine hits and striking out seven.

 

 

Northwest Florida State College socked one home run on the day. Kassidy Hood put one out in the sixth inning.

 

Northwest Florida State College collected eight hits on the day. Sydney Stewart and Abigail Pippen all collected multiple hits for Northwest Florida State College.
