Raiders Take Two From Baton Rouge

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida softball swept Baton Rouge in a doubleheader at the Raider Softball Complex on Wednesday.

Northwest Florida 13, Baton Rouge 5

The game tied at 4-all when Gabrielle Fischetti drove in a pair with a single in the fourth.

From there, the Raiders (31-13) went on to score nine runs in the frame.

Abby Sulte, Brittni Rufus, and Cameron Hall all finished the game with two hits and an extra base hit each.

Lauren Parson picked up the win in relief after she tossed 3.2 innings with five strikeouts.

Northwest Florida 11, Baton Rouge 3

The Raiders again used the big inning scoring seven runs in the fifth too down the Bears, 11-3, in the second game of the day.

Abby Sulte went 3-for-3 with a grand slam and five RBI. Rufus finished the game with a pair of hits, while Lele Martinez was 2-for-2 with two doubles.

Ivey Hill went the distance in the circle striking out two in five innings of work.

Northwest Florida hosts Calhoun on Friday at noon.
