Raiders Run Away with Doubleheader Sweep

MOBILE, Ala. – It was all Raiders from start to finish as Northwest Florida State softball topped Bishop State, 22-2 and 16-2, on Monday.

Northwest Florida 22, Bishop State 2

Emma Alley and Gabrielle Fischetti each went 2-for-2 and each drove in four runs to lead the offense.

Amber Divine was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored, Sckylier Baronet went 2-for-5 with three RBIs, while Lele Martinez, Ivey Hill, Abby Sulte, Ashley Fogg, and Gabby Jones all had at least one hit and one RBI.

Ivey Hill got the start in the circle and tossed three innings allowing just one hit. Mikayla Hampton closed out the game pitching the final two innings.

The Raiders (13-7) totaled eight extra base hits in the game.

Northwest Florida 16, Bishop State 2

Divine was again a force as the infielder drove in three more runs in game two to up her daily total to six on the day.

NWF scored five runs in the first innings and seven in the third to open an overwhelming lead.

Katie Walters allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out six in earning her sixth victory of the season.

The Raiders look ahead to their first home game of 2021 as the team hosts Coastal Alabama – South on Thursday in a doubleheader set for a 2 p.m. start.
