Lele Martinez Named Region VIII Player of the Week

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida sophomore Lele Martinez was named NJCAA FCSAA/Region VIII Player of the Week, the association announced Tuesday.

For the week, Martinez batted .500 with 11 runs scored, 11 RBIs, four doubles, and two home runs. The Ponce, Puerto Rico native had five multi-hit games highlighted by a 2-for-4 performance with a home run and four RBIs against No. 9 Wallace-Dothan.

On the season, Martinez is batting .378 with four homers and 18 runs batted in. In 50 plate appearances, she has posted a .440 on-base percentage and an .822 slugging percentage.
