NWF Men Clinch a Share of the Panhandle Conference Title

NICEVILLE, Fla. - The Northwest Florida Raiders dominated the Gulf Coast Commodores 103-72 tonight in Raider Arena to clinch a share of the Panhandle Conference title! With Tallahassee defeating Chipola tonight, all 3 teams are tied at 9-3.

 

The Raiders came out firing, jumping out to a 13-0 lead and holding the Commodores from scoring in the first 5 minutes. Northwest Florida arguably played their best game of the year tonight behind Tavion Banks' 31 point effort tonight. 

 

5 Raiders scored in double digits tonight with Banks at 31 followed by Jaylon McDaniel with 18, Chad Baker-Mazara with 16, Jadyn Shider at 12, and Treyvon Byrd with 10. The Raiders scorched the nets, shooting 41-69 from the field, a 59.4% FG percentage. Northwest Florida led for all 40 minutes of the game tonight and dominated in every aspect of the game tonight with the biggest difference coming from the bench points with Northwest Florida getting 53 points from their bench compared to Gulf Coast's 5. 

 

#16 Northwest Florida improved to 23-7, 9-3 in the Panhandle Conference. There will be a tiebreaker played on Monday, February 27th with Chipola and Tallahassee coming to Raider Arena. Tip-off will be at 6:00 PM between the Indians and Eagles. Northwest Florida will play the loser of that game on Wednesday at a site TBD. The winner of Monday's game and Wednesday's game will be separated by head-to-head record for the 1st and 2nd seed. The loser of Wednesday's game will be the 3 seed.
