Northwest Florida Falls 76-68 in Raider Arena

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida fell short tonight vs. #5 Tallahasse 76-68 in Raider Arena on Wednesday night. The Raiders have fallen to 0-2 in Panhandle Conference play.

 

Down 6 at halftime, the Raiders were shooting 35.7% from the field in the first half. The offense picked it up in the 2nd half but, so did Tallahassee's. Northwest Florida improved their shooting to 45.2% in the second half. However, Tallahassee was 50% from the field after intermission, knocking down 4-9 3's.

 

Chad Baker-Mazara had a great night as he was the leading scorer with 20 points on 6-10 shooting, including 3 3's. Kasean Pryor tallied 11 points and 9 rebounds, one short of recording his 6th double-double of the season. Taryn Todd continues to step up in the absence of Marcus Niblack as Todd dished out 5 assists tonight.

 

Northwest Florida (14-6) will have a full week off before hitting the road to take on Pensacola State College on January 18 in Hartsell Arena. The Pirates are 0-2 in conference play, losing to Gulf Coast by 1 point and Chipola by 3.
