NWF Cruises to a 98-53 Victory over Gaston College
NICEVILLE, Fla. – It was raining threes in Niceville on Friday night as the Raiders knocked down 8-13 3s, en route to a 98-53 victory over Gaston College. Northwest Florida stays undefeated at home, improving their record to 7-0 in Raider Arena.
Gaston College took an early 13-11 lead midway through the first quarter before the Raiders went on a 14-0 run over a span of five minutes. The Raiders never looked back as they lit up the nets on 33-58 (56.9%) shooting from the field.
The Raiders were firing on all cylinders as the defense forced 20 turnovers, scoring 27 points off the Rhinos' mistakes and outrebounding Gaston 50-30. It was a full team effort as the Northwest Florida bench pitched in 51 points.
Chad Baker-Mazara was on fire from deep as he hit 80% of his 3s. Baker-Mazara racked up 19 points on 5-8 shooting. Collin Warren had 18 on 5-9 shooting. Tavion Banks recorded a double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Marcus Niblack dished out 6 assists.
Northwest Florida will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they take on #8 Monroe College (10-0) at 4:00 PM. Monroe defeated Pensacola State College 70-67 in overtime on Friday night.
