
NWF Men Bounce Back with 87-66 Win
MACON, GA. - Northwest Florida got back on track tonight, defeating Central Georgia Tech 87-66 in Macon, Georgia. The six day rest was much needed as the Raiders looked fresh after playing in 11 games in 24 days to start the season. Coach DeMeo and his squad pulled away in the second half, after being ahead by 5 points at intermission.
The Raiders dominated in every aspect of the game tonight as they outrebounded the Titans 42-29. Tavion Banks led the team with 15 rebounds. Banks recorded a double double as he added 12 points. There were a total of 6 Raiders in double digits tonight with Collin Warren and Jaylon McDaniel with 13, Banks with 12, and Marcus Niblack, Taryn Todd, and Chad Baker-Mazara each scoring 11. Despite shooting 2-13 from 3, the Raiders were able to get inside and score with ease, totaling 60 points inside the paint. Northwest Florida finished the game shooting 35-60 (58.3%) from the field.
Northwest Florida will be back at home on Friday, December 2nd as they take on Gaston College (5-1) at 7:30 PM. Gaston College started the season at 5-0 before falling to Gordon State College 86-84 in their last game. The Rhinos are averaging 91.2 points/game and connecting on 51.5% of their shots from the field.
