NWF Comes Up Short vs. Southeastern

WEST BURLINGTON, IA - Northwest Florida has fallen in back to back games as Southeastern Community College defeated the Raiders 75-61 in Thursday night's matchup in West Burlington, Iowa. The Blackhawks were led by Davion Bailey, who had 27 points.  

 

Marcus Niblack led the Raiders with 18 points, 16 of those points coming in the 2nd half. Niblack was 8-11 from the charity stripe in the final 20 minutes. Chad Baker-Mazara had 13 points tonight, connecting on 3 of 6 from beyond the arc in the first half.

 

Kasean Pryor was ejected with 15:30 left in the game after being called for his third flopping technical foul. The Raiders never gave up and chipped away at the Southeastern 9-point halftime lead, knotting the game at 45 with 10:24 remaining after Marcus Niblack sank 2 free throws. The Blackhawks responded, going on a 10-0 run and never surrendered the lead after that point. Northwest Florida pulled within 4 points with 3 minutes in the game, before Southeastern pulled away again for a 14 point victory.

 

The Raiders (6-2) have a crucial three game stretch coming up in Pensacola as they will face Jones College (4-0) on Monday at 3:00 PM, Lamar State - Port Arthur (4-2) on Tuesday at 3:00 PM, and Ranger College (3-2) on Wednesday at 11:00 AM.
