Passed the Test: Raiders Knock Off Feisty Polk State Squad

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida State and Polk State traded blows for most of the game, but the Raiders were able to pull away down the stretch in a 73-65 victory over Polk State in Raider Arena on Saturday.

NWF (10-1) held Polk State to just two field goals over the final 6:11 of the game to escape with its eighth straight win.

Michael Jefferson and Brennan Rigsby paced the Raiders with 14 points each. Deshawndre Washington had 12 points and eight rebounds, while Tre Clark added 11 points and four rebounds.

Polk State shot 60 percent (15-25) before halftime, including eight 3-pointers, but Northwest Florida was able to keep pace in large part to Jefferson's 5-of-6 effort in the first half.

The Raiders return to action at home on Dec. 10-11 against Marion Military and Holmes.
