NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida State was hitting on all cylinders in a 101-59 drubbing of Southern Union on Friday in Raider Arena. The win marked the seventh straight for the ninth-ranked Raiders and improved the team's record at home this season to 5-0.
Tre Clark was tremendous with 17 points, including a 5-of-9 effort from three-point range. As a team, NWF (10-1) knocked down 14 threes and shot 52.8 percent (38-72) from the field.
Kam Woods posted his third consecutive double-digit scoring game with 14 points. Shammah Scott had 13 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Issa Muhammad turned in 12 points and eight boards. Deshawndre Washington added seven points to go along with a game-high 13 rebounds and five assists.
The Raiders dominated from the start shooting 56.4 percent in the first half and took a 23-point lead into the break. NWF forced 21 Southern Union turnovers leading to 32 points and controlled the paint outscoring the Bison 40-28 from close range.
Northwest Florida State is back in action in Raider Arena on Saturday with a 4 p.m. tip against Polk State.
