PENSACOLA, Fla. – Deshawndre Washington scored 14 of his 17 points in the second half to lead No. 12 Northwest Florida State to a 70-60 victory over Southern Arkansas on Tuesday.
The Raiders (6-1) led by 12 early in the second half but the Rockets went on a furious 20-3 run to take a 50-44 lead with nine minutes to play.
Washington, however, put the team on his back going 5-of-12 for the game and 6-for-6 from the free throw line with 11 rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Tre Clark scored 16 points with four 3-pointers, including one at the 3:55 mark to put NWF up 60-55.
Michael Jefferson finished with 10 points; his third straight game in double-figures.
Northwest Florida returns to Pensacola on Wednesday to face No. 19 Odessa at 11 a.m.
