Raiders Pick Up Key Panhandle Conference Win

PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Northwest Florida State picked up a key Panhandle Conference victory, 83-77, over Gulf Coast on Tuesday. 

Nate Laing notched the victory in his debut as interim head coach as the team scored a season-high in points and defeated the Commodores in Billy Harrison Fieldhouse for the first time since Feb. 13, 2019.

In a nip-and-tuck game, Northwest Florida (5-6, 2-4 PC) shot a season-best 56.1 percent from the field. Brison Waller led the way scoring a career-high 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting with five rebounds.

Marseilles Caston and Micah Thomas scored 16 points each. Caston also posted six boards. Jourdan Smith added 13 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Northwest Florida travels to face No. 6 Tallahassee on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. (CT).
