NWF Pushes No. 2 Tallahassee, Falls Late

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida State men's basketball pushed No. 2 Tallahassee until the very end but fell, 76-69, in Raider Arena on Thursday.

The Raiders (4-4, 1-2 PC) led for 23:45 of the game, but a furious run early in the second half gave the Eagles possession of the game.

With Northwest Florida leading 35-24 coming out of halftime, Tallahassee went on a 25-13 run to take the lead. The Eagles build up an 11-point advantage late in the game before NWF fought back to close it four, but time was not on the Raiders side as TCC knocked down free throws to seal the game.

Micah Thomas and Marseilles Caston scored 17 points each to pace the Raiders. Alonzo Gaffney added 16 with eight rebounds.

Northwest Florida travels to Marianna to face Chipola at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
