FORT MYERS, Fla. – Micah Thomas put the No. 23 Northwest Florida State men's basketball team on his back in a 74-65 win over No. 7 Florida Southwestern in Suncoast Credit Union Arena on Saturday.
Thomas was 10-of-15 from the field and finished with a game-high 29 points. It was a balanced effort from the freshman as he scored 14 in the first half and 15 in the second. He was also 8-for-10 from the free throw line.
The Raiders (3-2) never trailed in the game and led by as many as 14 after an 18-4 run to open the game. FSW closed the gap to three, 55-52, late in the second half but could get no closer.
Marseilles Caston finished with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting, while Fallou Diagne knocked down three treys and ended with 13 points.
NWF returns to action Feb. 3 at Pensacola. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
