NWF Bolsters Roster with Jacksonville State Transfer

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville State transfer Cam Jones has signed with Northwest Florida men's basketball, NWF head coach Butch Pierre has announced.

Jones, a 6-6, 190-pound guard from Memphis, Tenn., played in 20 games for the Gamecocks last season averaging 3.4 points, 1.7 rebounds, and accumulating 31 assists.

"He's a guy that has Division I experience," Pierre said. "He has great size and can play multiple positions. He's one of those guys that makes his teammates better. Good guard play is key in the Panhandle Conference and Jones is a guy that can provide that."

A product of Whitehaven High School, Jones was a two-time all-state selection. He led WHS to a runner-up finish in the TSSAA state tournament averaging 15.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game as a senior.

At Jacksonville State, Jones started three games and posted a season-high of nine points twice, once in the team's season opener against Brescia and again at Tennessee Tech.
