PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Northwest Florida fought off a furious second half rally to defeat Monroe College, 67-65, Monday in the Visit Panama City Beach Men's Basketball Tournament on the campus of Gulf Coast State.
Seth Millner scored a team-high 13 points, including four critical free throws down the stretch to help ice the game. Anthony Mason turned in a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Marseilles Caston scored 12 points to go along with four assists.
The Raiders (11-4) led 50-34 in the second half before Monroe ripped off a 16-2 run to tie the game at 52-all. Caston knocked down a 3-pointer at the 11:13 mark to give NWF the lead for good.
Zion Styles paced Monroe (11-6) with 15 points and six steals.
Northwest Florida returns to action on Tuesday as the Raiders take on Coastal Alabama – North at noon.
