PENSACOLA, Fla. – No. 18 Northwest Florida overcame a 16-point second half deficit to defeat Lamar – Port Arthur, 70-63, Wednesday on the final day of the Pensacola Thanksgiving Classic.
Marseilles Caston scored 12 of his game-high 21 points from the free throw line, including several down the stretch to lift the Raiders to victory. Seth Millner was 6-of-11 from the field to finish with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Lamar State led 37-28 at halftime and build out a 16-point advantage early in the second half. The Raiders (8-3) came storming back and won the final 20 minutes 42-26.
NWF shot a blistering 50 percent (15-30) from the field in the second half and knocked down 10 of 12 shots from the charity stripe.
Northwest Florida returns to action on Dec. 5 in Raider Arena when the team hosts Coastal Alabama – North at 7:30 p.m.
