Raiders Set to Host NWF Classic
NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida men's basketball is set to host Roane State and Coastal Alabama – North in the NWF Classic set for Friday and Saturday. Pensacola State will also participate in the four-team event.
NWF takes on Roane State Friday and Coastal Alabama – North Saturday, both games are set for a 7:30 p.m. tip. Pensacola battles Coastal Alabama – North Friday and Roane State Saturday with each game tipping at 5 p.m.
The Raiders (1-0) have had a week to recover after a 66-56 victory over FSC Jacksonville to open the season. Indrek Sunelik led all scorers with 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field, the freshman was responsible for four of the team's nine 3-pointers in the game.
Roane State (0-2) dropped its first two games of the season, including a 101-64 decision to Chipola in Marianna. Forward Kavan Hill leads the team averaging 17.0 points per game through the early part of the year.
Coastal Alabama – North (0-2) fell to Gulf Coast to open its 2019-20 campaign before falling to Pensacola, 70-68, on Tuesday. The Eagles were led by Roy Jones III, who dropped 33 points on 10-of-19 shooting against the Pirates.
