NWF Men’s Hoops Preview Part 3: The Roster

PART 1: WHERE ARE THEY NOW | PART 2: COACHES

Niceville, Fla. - With the start of men's basketball season just around the corner, NWFRaiders.com will take a look at the program in a four-part preview series.

Northwest Florida State opens its 2019-20 campaign at home on Nov. 1 against Florida State College of Jacksonville. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m.

The third part of the series is a look at the 2019-20 roster as the Raiders have 12 newcomers joining the team's one returning letterwinner – Anthony Mason.

GUARDS

The Raiders have a solid mix of transfers and true freshmen on the roster despite not having a returning letterwinner at guard in 2019-20.

Seth Millner is a 6-6 transfer from Cleveland State where he played in 31 games last season. Millner averaged 7.1 points and 4.7 rebounds while scoring in double figures nine times.

Indrek Sunelik, a native of Tallinn, Estonia, has spent several years in the United States playing prep ball. The recent Arkansas State commit is a long and athletic guard at 6-7 with superb shooting ability.

Jourdan Smith is a 6-7 freshman from New Orleans where he attended Sunrise Christian Academy. Smith averaged 12.0 points and 3.3 rebounds for Team Harden TX playing the AAU circuit.

Shakwon Barrett comes to NWF as a redshirt sophomore by way of Tulane. He was tabbed American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team a year ago and averaged 4.7 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assist in 21.6 minutes per game for the Green Wave.

Kameron Parker is a Niceville High School product who returns home after a season at Northland Community College. Parker sat out last season with the Raiders but is poised to make an impact in the backcourt.

Thierno Keita is a 6-5 guard from Dakar, Senegal, where he participated in the NBA Academy SEED Project. His team toured Paris and Prague playing games along the way. Keita will add length and athleticism to the Raiders attack.

Marseilles Caston hails from Windsor, Ontario, but attended Potter's House Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Fla. Caston averaged 15.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists for E1T1 on the AAU circuit.

FORWARDS

Anthony Mason is the lone letterwinner returning from last season's NJCAA Elite Eight squad. Mason played in 30 games averaging 5.0 points and 3.2 rebounds. He scored in double figures seven times, including a season-high 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting against ASA Miami.

Carte'Are Gordon was ranked No. 75 in the ESPN Top 100 prep rankings out of Webster Groves High School. He spent a half a year at Saint Louis where he appeared in 13 games averaging 8.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks. Gordon transferred to DePaul for the second half of the year before making his way to Northwest Florida.

Szymon Wojcik joins his brother Jan as a transfer from Missouri State. Szymon played 14 games last season for the Bears before his season was cut short due to injury. He scored a team-high 16 points and eight rebounds in a win over William Woods. A 6-9, 220-pound product of Wroclaw, Poland, Wojcik looks to bounce back with the Raiders.

Jan Wojcik saw action in 18 games as a true freshman with Missouri State. He posted five rebounds and three blocks against Valparaiso and came off the bench for record three steals and a dunk against Oral Roberts. At 6-9, 220, Jan will join his brother in anchoring the Raiders frontcourt.

Tutu Chisholm is a native of Queensbridge, New York, where he attended Martin Luther School. At 6-8, 215 pounds, Chisholm can finish above the rim and has shown nice handles and shot-making ability.

Brison Waller is a freshman from Cleveland, Ohio. Waller attended Garfield Heights High School where he scored in double digits 11 times as a senior. The 6-8 forward scored a career-high 26 points against Glenville High School.
