
Raiders Earn Split on Saturday, Defeating John A. Logan but Falling Short to Indian River
PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Northwest Florida State baseball split a pair of games Saturday in Panama City, winning game one decisively 11-3 against #24 John A. Logan, but falling in game two to #22 Indian River, 8-1.

GAME 2 vs. #24 JOHN A. LOGAN
Northwest Florida State flexed its offensive power once again, cruising past John A. Logan with an 11-3 win on Saturday in Panama City Beach.
The Raiders wasted no time getting on the board, striking first in the opening inning when Ira Jefferies-Harris and Matt Farner delivered back-to-back two-out, two-run singles. They extended their lead in the second, tacking on four more runs behind back-to-back home runs from Henry Allen and Jefferies-Harris.
Northwest Florida put the game further out of reach in the seventh, adding four more runs courtesy of long balls from Qrey Lott and Hutson Guinn. Lott delivered a solo shots to lead off the innings while Guinn smashed a three-run bomb to left.
Pitching Highlights
Sam Schmidt got the start for the Raiders, allowing three hits and two runs over three innings while striking out three. Thomas Howard took the mound for John A. Logan, surrendering seven hits and seven runs (three earned) over two innings. Bryon Rincones and Anthony St. Vincent each provided solid relief for Northwest Florida. Rincones tossed 3.0 innings, surrendering one run and striking out two. St. Vincent tossed on innings, giving up no hits and striking out one batter.
Offensive Highlights
The Raiders' bats stayed hot, racking up 15 hits. Jefferies-Harris led the way with a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the plate, while Allen, Guinn, and Jefferies-Harris each drove in three runs. Lott, Tristan Bittle, and Matthew Keller also contributed multiple hits.
GAME 2 vs. #22 INDIAN RIVER
A five-run fifth inning proved to be the difference as Indian River defeated Northwest Florida 8-1 in game two Saturday.
The Raiders struck first in the second inning when Qrey Lott delivered an RBI double on a full count. However, Indian River State responded quickly, taking a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the frame with RBI singles from Scout Simpson and Nico Lopez.
The Pioneers broke the game open in the fifth, plating five runs on four hits. Jake Weatherspoon delivered the biggest blow with a three-run double, while Matty Davis followed with an RBI double of his own. Simpson later worked a bases-loaded walk to bring in another run.
Pitching Highlights
Thomas Conrad took the mound for the Raiders, allowing two runs on five hits over four innings. Lucas Glendinning started for the Pioneers, tossing five strong innings while allowing just one run on five hits with seven strikeouts and no walks.
Offensive Leaders
Lott drove in the Raiders' lone run, finishing 1-for-2, while Henry Allen led the team in hits with a 2-for-3 performance. Indian River State racked up 11 hits, led by Weatherspoon, who went 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Davis also had a strong day at the plate, collecting two hits in three at-bats.
UP NEXT
The Raiders return to Panama City on Sunday for a matchup against Wabash Valley at 10:00 a.m. (CST). They will then head home for a single game against Lurleen B. Wallace on Tuesday before hosting Miami Dade and Motlow State next weekend for a pair of games each.
