NWF Baseball Earns Eight All-Conference Selections; Gaskin Named Player of the Year, Estrada Pitcher of the year, Martin Coach of the Year
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — In a press release issued by the FCSAA on Thursday morning, the 2024 All-Panhandle Conference Baseball First and Second Team Selections were revealed, highlighting the achievements of eight Raiders players. Among them were five first-team selections and three second-team selections, with Cayden Gaskin clinching the conference Player of the Year title, and Mack Estrada securing the Conference Pitcher of the Year award.
Joining Gaskin and Estrada on the first team were Colby Jones, Cade Sadler, and Sam Strek, while Jaquae Stewart, Chase Williams, and Will Boylan earned spots on the second team. For Jones, this marks his second consecutive appearance on the First-Team All-Conference list, while it's the first time for the others to be recognized with this honor.
In addition to the player accolades, Raiders' head coach Doug Martin was named the Panhandle Conference Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year. Under Martin's guidance, the team achieved its third consecutive 30-win season, including 16 victories in conference play, leading to their second consecutive Conference Title.
The Raiders kick off their postseason journey tomorrow afternoon at 5:00 p.m. in game one of a best-of-three series against Polk State. The winner will advance to the second round of the tournament in Tampa, Florida, facing the victor of the Fort Myers regional between Florida Southwestern and Santa Fe.
