Williams Leads Offensive Onslaught As NWF Defeats #5 Pensacola, 13-8.

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Chase Williams delivered a stellar performance, going 5-for-6 at the plate, leading Northwest Florida State to a decisive 13-8 victory over the fifth-ranked Pensacola Pirates on Wednesday. Williams exhibited his power with a solo home run to right field in the fourth inning, while also registering singles in the second, eighth, and first innings.

The Raiders showcased their offensive prowess with a total of 20 hits against the Pirates in this high-scoring matchup. In contrast, Pensacola managed seven hits of their own.

Northwest Florida State wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard, putting up three runs in the top of the first inning. Cayden Gaskin's double, followed by doubles from Colby Jones and Cade Sadler, each brought in a run. Williams' single in the second inning, coupled with Gaskin's sacrifice fly, extended the Raiders' lead. Williams continued his impressive performance with another solo home run in the fourth inning.

Despite Pensacola's efforts to mount a comeback and tie the game in the bottom of the fifth inning, with a groundout by Reaves and a solo home run by Clay, the Raiders surged ahead in the top of the eighth inning. Williams singled again, driving in one run, while Gaskin's homer to left field added two more runs. A catcher's interference further contributed to the Raiders' run tally.

Pitcher Alex Walsh earned the win for the Raiders, conceding just one hit and one unearned run over four innings, with five strikeouts and no walks. Pankey suffered the loss for Pensacola CC.

Northwest Florida State's offensive onslaught saw Gaskin leading the charge with four RBIs, supported by multiple hits from Tyler Lejeune, Sadler, Preston Murphy, and Jones.
