Raiders Remain Perfect at Home After Defeating San Jac and Motlow Saturday

NICEVILLE, Fla. — Northwest Florida State baseball improved their home record to 8-0 on Saturday after securing two more wins against San Jacinto-North and Motlow State.

GAME ONE (vs. San Jacinto)

It was a nail-biter at Northwest Florida State College on Saturday, culminating in a thrilling walk-off victory for the home team as they edged past San Jacinto 7-6 in the bottom of the eighth inning (Scheduled 7 Innings). With the game deadlocked at six runs apiece, Mason Janz delivered the game-winning hit with a clutch single to left field, bringing Kendrey Maduro home from second base.

Despite facing a 6-1 deficit by the third inning, the Raiders staged an impressive comeback. The Ravens took an early lead, scoring on a pair of doubles in the opening frame, followed by a solo home run and a sacrifice fly in the second inning. Another two-run homer in the third inning extended their lead.

However, Northwest Florida responded with determination. Maduro's home run in the third inning sparked their offense, and they steadily chipped away at the deficit. Qrey Lott's single in the seventh inning tied the game at six runs each, setting the stage for Janz's heroics in the eighth.

Colby Jones secured the win on the mound for Northwest Florida State, pitching two scoreless innings in relief. Maduro led the offensive charge with a 2-for-5 performance at the plate, while Cayden Gaskin displayed patience with two walks.

GAME TWO (vs. Motlow State)

The Raiders demonstrated their dominance with a commanding 7-1 victory over Motlow State on Saturday.

The scoring began early for Northwest Florida, as Cayden Gaskin's triple in the bottom of the first inning set the tone. Colby Jones followed with a sacrifice fly, and Kendrey Maduro added another run with a groundout, giving the home team an early lead.

Pitcher Jackson Evers delivered a stellar performance, allowing just one hit and one run over six and one-third innings while striking out eight batters. Meanwhile, Motlow's Alvey struggled on the mound, surrendering four runs on 10 hits over five innings.

The Raiders' offense was firing on all cylinders, amassing a total of 11 hits in the game. Preston Murphy stood out with an impressive three-hit performance, leading the team at the plate. Gaskin and Jones provided the offensive firepower, each driving in two runs. Brock Tapper and Chase Williams also contributed with multiple hits.
