Raiders Put Up 11 Runs Against the Wildcats on Friday


NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida State dominated Bishop State with an 11-1 victory on Friday at the Raider Baseball Complex.

 

The Raiders wasted no time taking the lead, with Colby Jones's single bringing in one run in the bottom of the first inning, followed by Jaquae Stewart's home run to left field, scoring two more runs.

 

In the second inning, the Raiders added three more runs, courtesy of RBI sac-flies by Chase Williams and Jones. The Raiders continued to extend their lead in the third inning, capitalizing on errors by the Wildcats, scoring two additional runs.

 

Jackson Evers earned the win for Northwest Florida State, pitching four innings and allowing just one run on five hits while striking out four. Ward took the loss for Bishop State. Alex Kruse and Bryon Rincones shut down the Wildcats in relief for the Raiders, pitching 3.0 scoreless innings while only giving up three hits and punching out four.

 

The Raiders amassed 10 hits in the game, with Cayden Gaskin and Stewart each collecting two hits. Williams, Jones, and Stewart drove in two runs each, while Gaskin, Williams, and Kendrey Maduro stole multiple bases – the Raiders stole seven bases overall in the game.
