12-Run 4th Inning Carries NWF to a 13-1 Victory over Shelton State
NICEVILLE, Fla. - Northwest Florida knocked in 12 runs in the fourth inning on its way to a 13-1 victory over Shelton State on Thursday. The Raiders' offense in the inning was led by Zach Bale, Blake Cavill, Kendry Maduro, Alex Urban, Paul Winland, and Colby Jones, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Blaise Grove earned the victory on the hill for Northwest Florida. The lefthander surrendered zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out five. Trenton Burnett and Jacob Sedun entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
The Raiders racked up 13 hits on the day. Urban, Cayden Gaskin, Jones, and Cade Easterbrook all collected multiple hits for Northwest Florida State Raiders. Easterbrook, Jones, Gaskin, and Urban each collected two hits to lead the Raiders. Colby Jones hit his first career home run tonight in the 4th inning to add to the Raiders' blowout win.
